In the Summer of 2025, our team at Pretty Great® had the opportunity to support BACKED VC's founder retreat in Portugal—a project that brought together creative strategy and memorable brand experiences in one of Europe's most inspiring settings.

We continued our long time partnership with Clare Hunter, BACKED's Head of Brand and the BACKED team to develop a comprehensive suite of custom illustrations and artwork that became the visual foundation for the entire retreat experience. From personalised invites that set the tone before guests even arrived, to exclusive merchandise that attendees could take home, every piece was designed to capture the spirit of the gathering and strengthen connections within the founder community.

The collaboration allowed us to explore how thoughtful design can transform a corporate retreat into something truly special. Creating artwork that worked across multiple touchpoints—from welcome materials to keepsake mementos—required a cohesive visual approach that felt both professional and celebratory. It was an energising project that reminded us why we love working with forward-thinking teams who understand the power of design to create lasting impressions.
